You must activate your Twitch account before using it on any other media player besides your computer. The entire procedure begins with creating a code on your computer, which you must then input on Twitch on the device you plan to utilize. However, the specific steps may vary from one media player to the next. Furthermore, twitch.tv/activate may occasionally work or fail to show the 6-digit code. This post will come in handy if you’re having trouble activating Twitch on any platform.
How To Create A Twitch Account?
You must first sign up for a Twitch account before proceeding with the activation process. It may be done on a computer or a mobile device. On both devices, I’ll show you how to accomplish it. Skip to the activation step if you already have an account. To create a Twitch account on your computer, sign these steps:
1 – Open your browser, then go to twitch.tv and click the Sign-Up button
2 – Fill up the Sign-Up form with your username, date of birth, email, and password. Counter-check to ensure that this information is correct since it might be useful during account recovery.
3 – Alternatively, you can sign up using your Facebook account by clicking Connect with Facebook
4 – Follow the instructions on the registration wizard to open your Twitch account
If you’re using an Android or iOS smartphone, however, follow these steps:
1 – Open your respective app stores, search and download Twitch Mobile App
2 – Install and launch the app, then tap Sign Up
3 – You can sign up using your phone number or email address
4 – Once you complete the form and click Sign Up, a 6 digit code will be sent to your phone number or email
5 – Enter the code on your app within 5 minutes
The code is generally delivered immediately. If you haven’t received it within 5 minutes, double-check your phone number or email address using the back arrow. Well, if everything seems good, tap Resend code. If you don’t want to get Twitch alerts via your phone, fill out the sign-up form using your email address.

Is Your 6-digit Twitch TV Activation Code Not Working? How To Fix
If the activation code does not work or does not appear on your TV or Roku, try the following fixes:
1. Reactivate Device
By going to Menu Bar > Twitch > Activation, you may resend the code to your device. Next, a code for activation should appear. Once you have it, you may activate Twitch by following any of the steps listed above, depending on the device you’re using.
2. Change HDMI Cable
The code may not appear if you use an older HDMI cable. Unplug your HDMI cable for around 30 seconds before plugging it back in a while using a video streaming device. If the code does not appear, replace the cable and try again. Go to Settings > Audio/Video > TV Resolution and select “Auto” if you’re using Apple TV. Continue to the following step if this doesn’t work.
3. Switch From Dark Mode
Have you recently reduced the resolution of your TV or switched to Dark Mode? Your activation code, for example, maybe presented in a deeper hue, making it hard to read. To see the code, view off Dark Mode or increase the brightness of your TV or monitor.
